Of Warmth and Style

Finally. Summer is over, and we’re nearing the Fall season. Time to pull up my knee-high boots! Yes, I am aware that we live in a tropical country. But it’s still fun to dress in the Fall/Winter wear, don’t you think?  I mean, there’s just something so chic about the warm cardigans, leggings, jackets, boots and sweaters of Fall and Winter.

Only one problem, if you were to wear that stuff in Malaysia, not only would you stick out like an overdressed sore thumb, you’d be sweating (god forbid) bullets by the end of it!

So what’s a fashionista stuck in a tropical climate to do?

One word, Venusians: Uniqlo.

This amazing clothing brand has finally launched its Fall/Winter 2011 Collection!  With model/actress Carmen Soo and actor Fahrin Ahmad as their official Malaysian ambassadors, Uniqlo is set to take the local fashion scene by storm.

What I love most about Uniqlo is the amount of detail they pay attention to in their clothes, and it’s because of that that they don’t have to deliberately set themselves apart.  This time round, Uniqlo’s Fall/Winter Collection introduces a range of beautifully crafted silhouettes and sophistication. These exquisite pieces are created from extra light materials, giving you added comfort and warmth! The highlights of this collection are: HEATTECH, Ultra Light Down, and Sweat Parka and Merino.

HEATTECH is made of a material that absorbs moisture from the body, inducing Heat Generation. This subsequently reduces the need of for heavy winter garments. Ultra Light Down, however, are a range of clothing using thin, yet light and comfortable materials. Merino and Sweat Parka, on the other hand, are made from the best wool in Australia – Merino Wool. The wool is extremely thin, offering a smooth, soft feel. Here’s the best part: all three ranges are perfect for any style!

Now hang on, I know what you’re thinking. We live in a tropical climate, why would we need such warm clothes? Elementary, dear fashionable Venusians, these clothes may not be great for hot days, but they sure come in handy when it comes to sitting in freezing air conditioned rooms!

With the kind of material brought to us by Uniqlo, we won’t have to worry about looking like a puffball.  Rest assured, you’ll be feeling warm and toasty, with lightness and style.
