We foresee less and less Malaysians traveling to Singapore for KL is slowly catching up on brands that were first available in Singapore. It’s now minimalism, green product lovers’ turn to jump around for MUJI is coming to KL this April 2012! The news is fast following H&M first KL store (opening in the last quarter of 2012).

A shop lot in Pavilion is now under construction, cloaked by dark red wallpaper with ‘MUJI’ lettering on it. On 28 July 2010, Muji Malaysia first wrote on their Malaysian Facebook page, saying: ‘it will be on the shore soon..’

However, on 4 April 2011, they said the project was on hold for several reasons. There has been no exact dates since, until yesterday. KL-ites passed the words ’round on Twitter – all cheering for the coming of Muji in 2 months’ time.

Muji is well-known for its brand-less products, recycle policy, and avoidance of unnecessary waste in production and product selling.  The name itself, a short form of Mujirushi Ryōhin, literally means ‘no brand quality goods’.

This Japanese brand has gained faithful following, especially in developed countries like Singapore. However, in developing neighbour Indonesia, not every outlet enjoys sufficient amount of customers.
