Stevie Wonder is leading the lineup pack of the international jazz festival where Indonesia play hosts
Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Erykah Badu, and Al Jarreau sparks the fantastic lineups of Java Jazz 2012. Jazz enthusiasts around the globe are flocking to Indonesia come March. Java Jazz is the perfect embodiment of the saying ‘music unites people’.
Last year, the organizer witnessed 150,000 total spectators who cheered for both local and international lineups including Santana. With Stevie Wonder recently announced to lead the lineup pack, we are pretty sure Java Jazz 2012 is going to be a 3-day of musical orgasms.
Java Jazz’ founder Peter F. Gontha made a crucial promise in the first Java Jazz’ press conference: that it will be the biggest in 8 years (the festival first commenced in 2005). He first surprised the crowd with Herbie Hancock, Pat Metheny, Al Jarreau & George Duke, Erykah Badu, Laura Fygi, and Dave Koz. Come January 2012, and Stevie Wonder joins the already amazing lineup. What a way to celebrate jazz!
Java Jazz boasts its once-in-a-lifetime collaborations between international jazz artists and local jazz acts. Last year, Indonesian Magenta Orchestra shared the stage with Grammy-winning musician George Benson. This year, as many as 110 Indonesians musicians including Barry Likumahuwa Project, Maliq & d’Essentials, Yopie Item, and Andien, are scheduled to perform at Java Jazz.
