A legendary pop diva, whose glorious life has been riddled with drug abuse and a turbulent marriage, falls like a star out of the night sky into a bathtub. Claims have been made that Whitney Houston was found in her bathtub when she was pronounced dead only two days ago.
Rumours of her death because of an overdose have neither been confirmed nor denied. It was also reported that she could also have died of a heart attack. While there were no illegal substances, her room was found littered with prescription drugs that acted as sedatives, and she was thought to have drowned unconscious while in the bathtub. Officials, however, have informed the family that there was not enough water in her lungs to lead to that conclusion.
The photo above (taken from TMZ.com) shows what Whitney’s last meal consisted of before she went into the bathroom – Heineken and an empty glass that was previously filled with champagne, sources told. It is possible that the lethal concoction of pills and alcohol caused the a heart attack that ultimately took her life.
There were no indications of foul play, but officials are not ruling out any potential causes of death until they obtain the toxicology results, which can take weeks apparently. Why a few weeks for the toxicology report? Partly because of the huge backlog of the cases in the state, and also because of the extensive testing that will undoubtedly take more than just a few days.The police have released her body to her family, and they have flown her remains in actor-producer Tyler Perry’ plane back to Newark, New Jersey for a funeral and memorial, possibly on Friday. Although no details have been confirmed, it is speculated that the funeral will take place at the Prudential Center in Newark.
