Restful Retreat

Stressed out? Wish you could pamper yourself silly? You can! And you won’t need to break the bank. For just a few dollars, you can create a restful retreat right in your own home. Check out these 8 easy tips to restfulness:

1. Spa kit
Begin by building your own spa kit. You’ll need a loofah, salt or sugar scrubs, bath gel, shampoo, conditioner, moisturising lotions, face masks etc. Read up on treatments that you can do by yourself.

2. Peace
Your spa room should be quiet. Turn off the television and the phone during your spa session.

3. Time
Schedule time for your home spa treatment ‘ make arrangements to have at least one hour free of other responsibilities.

4. Fab fabrics
Get yourself a luxurious set of plush towels, bathrobe and bed sheets that
you can use exclusively for your spa treatments.

5. Be scent-sational
Stock up on scented candles or essential oils for aromatherapy. Dim the lights and inhale. This will help the relaxation process.

6. Drink it up
Get yourself a nice pitcher and glass. Mix up a cooling, zesty drink or just iced water. Hydration is an essential part of refreshing yourself.

7. Music
Choose a special CD for your spa treatment. Make sure it’s something that’s not too stimulating, preferably instrumental. It should be calm and soothing. The melody will help set the tone for your spa treatment.

8. Bathe in it
Prepare a warm, aromatic bath or shower. The soothing sensation of the warm water will calm tense muscles and nerves.

Sure, a home spa may not be quite the same as having a luxurious treatment at an exotic beach resort, but you can get some of the benefits of pampering and rejuvenating. God knows ‘ you need it!
