” Clients can expect to gain about 5cm after the painful treatment. ” – Tobnom

Say bye-bye to plastic surgery girls, now there’s an alternative to increase the size of those lil mamas. Believe it or not, not only is Thailand famous for its cheap breast implants, we are also shock to discover this craze about its well known art of breast-slapping.

Apparently, the Thailand government has planned classes for women where they can join to learn the art of breast slapping to give their boobs a good desired size. It has even licensed one beauty shop in Bangkok to perform the non-surgical treatment, which involves kneading, massaging and hitting of the breasts, as well as buttock-slapping to firm the rear.

The traditional therapy has been practised by shop owner Khemmikka Na Songkhla – better known as Khunying Tobnom – for more than two decades. She claims the slapping shifts fat from one area to another, while kneading works excess fat towards the breasts. Each treatment costs $380 for six 10-minutes slapping sessions.

However, God save those with extremely small breasts because they will be rejected as it would then be impossible to enlarge them.

Take a look at this video :

Sources adopted from www.news.com.au.

Seriously? Hmm..we highly doubt this technique would work.

After studying overseas, a breakup, or a passing of a family member – we tell you how to re-adjust to living under the parents’ roof

Fate has it that working from home is my way to go after finishing an overseas study program. In other words, after almost 4 years living on my own, I have to come back to living under the parents’ roof. It could mean a lot of things: minimum to zero living cost, resurrection of a thing called curfew, more family time and less social butterfly time.. the pros-cons could go on forever.

Living with parents in Asia is no strange thing, for most kids are expected to stay with parents to the day they are married. Funnily enough, the continent that hails ‘individual freedom’ & co, the USA, faces a newsworthy phenomenon whereby more and more 20 somethings with entry level jobs choose to stay with their parents. As of December 2011, CBS noted at least 6million adults aged between 25-34 live with their parents.

When you are no longer a little girl or cute boy, sharing life with parents can be tough. Commonly, the ‘they still think I’m a 5-year-old princess’ problem occurs. Then again, there are certain situations like breakups and passing of a family member which make living with parents is the only way out. Rather than grumping, why not we show you how to put ourselves inside parents’ shoes and create a better living environment for both parties.

1. ‘Yes’ is your magic word. Instead of always starting your responses with ‘I don’t want.. !’, show some sense of obedience and slowly voice out your opinions. Compromising is the way to go.

2. Keep to your promises. If you swear that you will come home by midnight – then do so. You want to be treated like an adult, act like one.

3. Bribery is not illegal. Treat your parents to their favourite Chinese restaurant, or cook them some curry on Sunday. It’s the little things that do all the magic, and slowly melt the previously cold and strict hearts.

4. Gadget golden rules: cut down your gadget time and do not teach them technology. One of the reasons parents want to use Facebook, BBM, and Twitter is because you spend 90% of your time on them. Teaching them technology, on the other hand, could be another parents-kids fighting cause for you are impatient and they are frustrated.

5. Create life cubicles: work time, play time, me time, and family time. The most common issue between kids and parents is personal space. Create a win-win solution whereby you have time and freedom to finish your work, mingle with friends, and have some me time. In return, make sure you also allocate family time.

“Treat your family bonding like a romantic relationship – you have to always make sure they have enough of your time. No matter how late I come home, I always try to have dinner with my mother. On the other hand, I inform her beforehand if I have weekend plans with friends, for example. That way, we appreciate both parties’ personal spaces.” – testimony from a career-driven lady living with her mother.

Fancy going on a blind date? Like, literally, a blind date. Dining in the dark has been around for ages, but it first started out to create awareness of the visually impaired. Though it first gained popularity in the western hemisphere, there are now a few restaurants adopting this concept in Asia. Closer to home, we have Senses in Hong Kong, Dine in the Dark in Bangkok, Thailand and Blind Café and Restaurant in Bandung, Indonesia.

The waiters employed are either completely blind or visually impaired, thus turning the tables on those who have the privilege of sight, having to rely on waiters who, despite not being able to see, know the restaurant inside out. And eating without seeing your food? Don’t worry, they make sure you won’t have too much difficulty enjoying your food. If all else fails, nobody will know you used your fingers.

The thrill? None other than not knowing what you’re putting into your mouth. You would probably have to feel your way around the plate before you even get to your food, but that’s part of the fun. Since you’re not depending on your visual senses, your other senses are heightened and you can taste the food better. You get to feel like a celebrity chef, trying to guess what’s what in your mouth, and making sense of the mix of flavours in the food. Zees is ze lobster, oui? Probably not, fish sticks more like.

Dining in the dark can call for some serious fun as well. If you are up for making friends, you could join in the conversation next to your table – they’ll never know who you are, unless they actually know you. You don’t have to worry about looking fabulous even. The great thing about dining in the dark is the fact that you’re giving work to the visually handicapped, and all you need to focus on (a lot of focus at that) is your food.

How to compliment those angled almond eyes, wide nose, full lips, and darker skin – chic Asian style!

Liu Wen has done Asians proud to be the first East Asian model to bear the Victoria’s Secret angelic wings. She once joked in awe for being an ‘angel’, for she ‘doesn’t have big boobs like other angels’. The truly oriental model walks away with full lips and beautiful almond eyes – The Telegraph calls her ‘face of the future’.

It is about time oriental features gain much deserved exposure, in the midst of mainstream westernized media. Make those eyes pop, rock that full lips, and repeat after me: Asian.and.proud.

1. Skin

Skin characteristics: fair to dark skin tone with yellow undertone

Make sure your skin looks even before starting any makeup regimes. To clear any complexions, use skin corrector or dab some translucent powder to your facial area.

2. Contouring

Nose characteristics: wider, with flatter bridge and short length

Chin characteristics: short and square

Cheeks characteristics: Higher cheeks with wider bones

Pick the foundation that is 2 tones darker than your actual skin tone for contouring

Another lighter foundation needed is yellow toned foundation blends well with Asian skin tone, compared to the pink toned that is more suitable with Caucasian skin

Apply darker foundation to the corners of your forehead, jawlines, and the sides of your nose

For the lighter foundation, apply it to the centre of your forehead, cheekbones, and chin

Use matte loose powder to reduce the oily look after contouring

For blushers, opt for peach-toned ones instead of pink, for they can make the wide cheekbones appear even wider. For a night look, you might want to use bronzers instead of blushers. Highlight your cheekbones and create smooth diagonal lines upwards

3. Eyes

Eye characteristics: almond-shaped, narrow, angled outer corners, lower lash directions

Apply highlight to the bone area (soft and light)

Use small blending brush to apply darker shade of eye shadows as you approach inner lid. Do the same for your bottom lid

Draw a defining line with liquid eyeliner right on top of your lash line. The line should go thicker as you approach the outer corner

For eyelashes, curl them before applying mascara

Shape the eyebrows to a perfect half circular. If you have scarce brows, use dark brown brow pencil to redefine them

4. Lips

Lips characteristics: full and narrow

For day look, stick to rosy shadows and even the application with your fingers

For night look, opt for crimson red shade to highlight your full lips

The internet can be a scary place, but only when you don’t know what you’re up with. Here are some of the more common creepers that threaten our daily internet usage.

Email Worms

More annoying than harmful, these little creepy crawlies come packaged with emails. Once your email client gets infected, the email worm replicates itself by sending emails to all your contacts.

How it works:

You get an email with the worm as an attachment or link. You click on it, your email client gets infected, and then boom! You have evil little email maggots sprawling about in your outbox ready to be shipped to the next dissatisfied customer.

There emails are usually identified with randomness: An unknown sender gives you information about a random product; a known sender sends a short email with very random content, or content you wouldn’t think came from the sender; plain simply ridiculous emails. They come with a link, or an attachment. Just be wary of anything you’re not positively sure about.

Fraudulent emails

These emails are scams used to phish for important information like your ID and password, or even your bank account.

How it works:

A link in the email takes you to a website where you’re told to “verify your account details” in order to make sure that you are indeed the one eligible for the Grand Prize draw. You fill in your bank account details. A few days later, you check your bank account and it hits you: you were the Grand Prize.

These emails usually look very legitimate, and very professional, so one can easily be fooled. They usually ask for details to your bank account, and will take you to a website that looks like the bank’s website. Look out for inconsistencies in the email. Is the sender’s email consistent with the bank? Be skeptical if there are spelling or grammatical errors in the email.

A good way to see if the link is authentic is by hovering your mouse over the link. It might say www.yourbank.com on the email, but look at (usually) the bottom of your browser, it might actually be taking you to www.wevegotyounow.com/giveusyourmoney?now#. If it tells you to act immediately, don’t.

Example: www.yourbank.com (look below)

Advance Fee Scam

When they said you don’t get no free lunch under the sun, they ain’t kidding you about, ladies.

How it works:

You get an email saying “Congratulations! You have won! Click here to contact our agent to see how you can claim your prize!” You contact their agent, and they tell you to pay a processing fee. A month later, the prize is still being processed.

If you haven’t entered any contest, chances are, these emails are fake. Even if you have, they wouldn’t ask you to pay any fees. If anything, they would deduct the fees from the prize money. The best way to avoid such scams is to not be greedy.

Free Software

Okay, so maybe there are free stuff up for grabs, but still be wary of free handouts.

How it works:

You’re desperately looking for a software – free smileys. You find it, or at least you think you did. You download it, but it asks if it can also install iSpyou and iBugYouWithAds, and make it seem like you won’t be able to install the intended software without first installing them.

Many free software are free because they’re loaded with spyware (I see you!), adware (buy this, and that!) and other baddies. Don’t allow your browser to install applications that you don’t know about either.

While spyware and adware do not really attack your computer like other viruses, spyware can track what you do and give potential hackers enough information for they need, while adware are a pain in the behind. Make sure that you are downloading and installing only what you asked for, if you’re not sure, leave it.

The Person Behind You

And you thought only the internet was out to get you?

How it works:

Captain Obvious stands behind you and stares at your keyboard while you enter your bank account password. Mr. Incognito stealthily paces behind you while you login to your Facebook account. Creepy soundtrack optional.

If you’re making important banking transactions, make sure nobody is watching you while you enter your password. The same goes for email and social media accounts. Do we really need to elaborate?

Remember Harry (or Harriet), constant vigilance!

A book titled “Where Did I Come From?” is a book that explains the reproductive process in highly graphic detail from intercourse to childbirth.

Datuk Muhammad Khairun Aseh, Chairman of the UMNO Youth Community Complaints Bureau, commented that the book might be detrimental to the morality in the younger generation. The book came to his knowledge when a shopper bought the book without first reviewing the content, but was later shocked to see illustrations that were deemed inappropriate for children. The Home Ministry has asked bookstores to halt sales of the book by Peter Mayle.

The book was first printed in 1973, and many readers (parents) have claimed that the book had been instrumental in give their children the talk, you know, about the birds and the bees. “The facts of life without any nonsense and with illustrations” says the subtitle. Indeed, the book has very little nonsense and was straight to the point, complete with detailed illustrations of naked male and female bodies. The book also describes the process of making love quite liberally.

Written for children 12 and below, surely this book was not categorized as pornography, otherwise it would not have appeared on bookshelves in the first place. Is it really detrimental to society? Muhd Khairun said although it might be suitable for children at the writer’s country of origin, it was still not suitable in Malaysia. Which begs the question, why not?

Sex is an issue that piques the curiosity of many young minds, and the fact that it is always hushed up and viewed as taboo only makes children want to know more. It is unfortunate that this sometimes lead to dangerous experimentation outside the confines of safety, which can be enlarged by proper teaching of the reproductive process by parents.

With teenage pregnancies on the rise, is it high time parents take up the charge to educate their children of the inevitable discovery, or do we allow time and destiny to pave the way for their sexual education? We don’t need statistics to tell us this – it’s not being done and we know it.

Maybe the book isn’t such a bad idea. After all, the only reason it feels awkward is because we make it awkward in the first place. Surely children will not have sexual tendencies at such tender an age as five?

Or will they? If anything, it is the adults that we need to worry about.
