Samsung Galaxy S III has landed in Malaysia!

Fans of Samsung smartphones rejoice – the Galaxy S III  has made its way to our shores!

With the tagline, “Designed for humans, inspired by nature”, the Galaxy S III is a smartphone that is supposed to recognize your voice, understand your intention, and lets you share a moment instantly and easily.

Besides the human-centric design with inspiration from the elements of wind, water, and light in the physical construct, the minimal organic design identity is reflected in the smooth lines of the device which come in two sexy colours – Pebble Blue and Marble White.

With a 4.8-inch HD Super Amoled display, the Galaxy S III has an 8MP camera and a 1.9MP front-facing camera, which allows us shiok-sendiri girls to capture HD videos of ourselves – LIKE!

The Galaxy S III also introduces natural interaction by enhancing the interaction experience between the device and user, so it can actually detect face, voice and motions – which is pretty cool.

It recognizes eye movements, so instead of the screen blacking out every 10 seconds unless you’re touching the screen – the ‘Smart Stay’ feature uses the front camera to identify your eyes, and will maintain a bright display for continued and uninterrupted viewing pleasure. Freaky, but cool eh?

Another really interesting feature is the ‘Direct Call’ in which the smartphone understands your motions – for example, if you’re texting someone back and forth and decide to call said person, all you have to do is lift your phone to your ear and it will immediately dial whoever it is you’re messaging. This saves you time from having to tap various screens in order to get from Message > Call contact.

With the ‘S Beam’, sharing files with other Galaxy S III users becomes an absolute breeze – by touching the two phones back to back, photos can be shared almost instantly.

Finally, another interesting feature is ‘Group Cast’ which allows real-rime sharing and users can share screens among multiple users on the same Wi-Fi network. This is perfect for small companies, work or study groups, parents and their kids as it lets users to make comments or draw changes collectively on their own devices.

The Galaxy S III will be available in Malaysia “very soon” according to the officials – our sources say as early as next week (Week of May 28), and you can already register your interest at Digi and Celcom. No price has been released yet, but we’re guessing it will be around the RM2k range.

VenusBuzz.com was at their local launch and we have a review unit with us – so stay tuned, we’ll have our personal thoughts on the Samsung Galaxy S III out for our Venusians soon!
