Merdeka Day is drawing near again! While some make it a tradition to raise the Jalur Gemilang way up high to embrace their Malaysian pride, others might find it fitting to sing Negaraku loud and proud. As for you lovely readers, how about donning a pair of Malaysian-inspired heels?
Ladies and gentlemen, may we present to you The Malaysian Collection by home-grown luxury shoe brand, XALF. Crafted in conjunction with Malaysia’s 56th Independence Day, the patriotic shoe collection consists of two unique designs – The Malaysian 1963 and The Malaysian 1957.
The vision behind the collection is simple, yet meaningful – to celebrate being Malaysian and to express gratitude for the various blessings bestowed on our homeland. The Malaysian Collection also aims to display one’s love, pride and nationalistic stance; as well as to turn heads and to make a lasting fashion impression!
Drawing inspiration from our Malaysian flag and its bold colours, the unique shoe designs prominently features red, yellow, white and blue. Upon catching a glimpse of these patriotic footwear, we honestly feel that the XALF team has truly done justice to Jalur Gemilang.
The Malaysian 1957
With sparkling blue five-inch heels, yellow heel counters and white lines that boldly etch across a body of red; The Malaysian 1957 is a pair of pumps that are bound to turn heads. A fine example of elegance and attitude, we can’t help but feel that the Jalur Gemilang is perfectly translated into XALF’s stunning The Malaysian 1957.
The Malaysian 1963
The inspiration for this pointy number is Malaysia in the year of 1963 – when the nation solidified its presence on the world map. The East and West union calls for the use of a bright yellow body with a three-and-a-half inch heel in red with short, white stripes. To celebrate 56 years of independence, the designer has tastefully inserted a ‘5’ and ‘6’ marking that’s blue in colour.
For a whimsical touch, buyers can opt to encrust The Malaysian 1963’s white stripes and ‘5’ and ’6’ design with bue Swarowski crystals.
The Malaysian is a limited edition collection that will only run of 56 pairs per design. Both of these patriotic hybrids are hand-crafted with genuine leather and sizes are customizable. In addition to that, each purchase will come with a card indicating its manufactured date and an exclusive shoebox. Prices are such:
- The Malaysian 1957: RM1450
- The Malaysian 1963 (without Swarovski): RM1450
- The Malaysian 1963 (with Swarovski): RM2050
On the downside, if you’re aiming to wear either one of these stunners on Merdeka Day this Saturday; you can’t. That is because the shoes take at least two to three weeks to craft. But look at it this way, if you order now, the shoes would be ready for Malaysia Day! Also, you don’t really need any special occasion to show that you’re proud to be a Malaysian now, do you?
