Smartwatches have nothing on you June!
As arm candy takes on a more techy theme, in comes a bracelet called June by Netatmo that can measure sun exposure in a stylish manner. We do love things that have both function and fashion. Wearable technology FTW!
As we know, sun exposure can cause sunburn, premature ageing and other untold damage. Thus, the June bracelet is designed to help wearer keep track of sun activity even on cloudy days. The device contains a jewel feature that has UV sensors to track UV intensity in real-time and the total sun exposure absorbed by the user’s skin. It connects wirelessly with user’s smartphone through an iOS app.
Depending on skin type, the app calculates and notify the user when to protect their skin. This way, every woman can see at what point the UV rays impact was most intense during the day and take steps to apply sunblock, wear a hat or put on sunglasses to avoid sun damage.
What sets this wrap-around piece apart is the stylish design, which was the brainchild of jewellery designer Camille Toupet, who had worked with Louis Vuitton and Harry Winston previously. The gemstone is made of alloy metal and comes in gold, platinum or gunmetal colour choices. It can be worn as a bracelet or a brooch. Not bad for a smart accessory!
This designer bracelet is expected to go on sale in the second quarter of the year with a $99 (approx. RM300) price tag.
