7 Natural Ways To Prevent Wrinkles

Egg whites

There’s a substance in egg whites called albumin, which is believed to contract skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. The whites also have B vitamins and rich vitamin E to naturally lift skin. Whip up several egg whites in a small bowl and apply onto skin as a mask. Allow to sit and dry for at least 15 minutes before rinsing off with warm water.

Olive oil + lemon

This natural oil helps provide moisture to the skin with its rich vitamin C, D and E, while the antioxidants and iron are great for regenerating the skin. Add in a few drops of lemon with the olive oil and massage on your skin before rinsing off with a soft towel. The acidity of lemon helps skin look brighter and reduce the fine lines on face.

Honey + milk

This is an age-old cleanser that dates back to the ancient pharaohs. Honey is rich in humectant compounds, which promote absorption and retention of moisture into the skin while milk is rich in lactic acid, which is a type of alpha hydroxyl acid that deep cleanses pores, sloughs off debris and stimulate collagen secretion. Combine one tablespoon of honey with half a tablespoon of organic whole milk. Massage into skin and leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

Milk + calamine

As mentioned, milk has proteins that are powerful to restore the moisture of skin while calamine powder is a soothing skin toner. You can mix milk to calamine powder to form a paste and apply it to your face and neck.

Bananas

Nature’s botox as it is known. This fruit is rich in several vitamins and other nutrients that can help rejuvenate skin. Mashed one or two ripe bananas until soft and spread it over the face. You can mix with a bit of honey for added hydration. Leave on for 30 minutes and rinse off with warm water. Do this once a week.

Coconut oil

Virgin coconut oil helps to minimise wrinkles by promoting collagen production and replacement in the skin. It is also effective in reducing liver spots and other blemishes. Use the oil as a moisturiser and massage a few drops into the skin each night.

Papaya

The pulp of this fruit can help reduce wrinkles as it contains papain that is known as a digestive enzyme, which can also help repair wrinkles. Papayas help rebuild the elastin in skin thereby preventing wrinkling. Use a green, not fully ripe papaya to make facial mask. Mash one half and combine with a tablespoon of honey. Leave for half an hour and rinse. Do twice weekly.
