Clap your hands if you feel like happiness is the truth! Because McDonald’s is happy!
For as long as we could remember, Ronald McDonald was one creepy clown, now add one more scary character to the line of mascots at McDonald’s – Happy.
The new mascot unveiled in the US is an animated Happy Meal Box. ‘Happy’ is the ambassador for balanced and wholesome eating. The boxy dude is supposed to encourage kids to eat healthier Happy Meals options like fruits, vegetables, low-fat dairy and water or juice.
Reactions though have been anything but happy. Many have gone onto social media to express their views with opinions ranging from ‘Epic fail’ to ‘Most terrifying’, ‘It’s the meal that eats you’, ‘Kill it with fire!’ and more.
Perhaps, just perhaps, the fast food chain is going on a scare tactic to get kids to eat their greens?
Happy has actually been around for a while now. The animated character was first introduced in 2009 to France and has since made his way through Latin America and other European countries. Australia and New Zealand also have the Happy mascot.
We wonder if the fella is going to make an appearance in Malaysia. Now that, we’d like to see!
