Youtube sensations Sam Tsui and Kurt Schneider will be crooning Malaysian fans real soon; which explains this week’s Eye Want Candy feature!

Who are Sam Tsui and Kurt Schneider?

Born on May 2, 1989 in Pennysylvania (USA), Sam Tsui is an American musician and internet celebrity who shot to stardom on YouTube. Often praised for covering popular artists such as Adele, Britney Spears and Bruno Mars, this multi-talented man is best known for his covers, mash ups and medleys.

Moving on to his equally talented musical accomplice, Kurt Hugo Schneider an American video editor, musician, singer and songwriter. Hailing from Maryand (USA) and born on September 7, 1988, Schneider also produces videos for various other YouTube musicians such as Christina Grimmie.

To celebrate Sam Tsui and Kurt Schneider’s first live appearance in Malaysia, here are some fun facts about these Youtube Kings.

Bonded Since Young

Fate is definitely on their side. Although their music partnership formed while they were in High School, it is noted that they have been living just a street away from each other. BFFL? Perhaps…

They’re From Yale

While music is obviously their forte, these two are also gifted with great intelligence – both Kurt Schneider and Sam Tsui were from Yale University! Tsui graduated from Yale with a major in classical Greek in 2011, while Schneider in 2010 with a degree in mathematics.

Tom Hanks Approved!

During Tsui’s graduation ceremony, actor Tom Hanks gave a speech and had mentioned Sam Tsui not one, but three times. Yes, we know this point is skewed towards Sam Tsui, it was just too good to not share!

Instrument Guru

To be fair to Schneider, here is one other fact of his that blew us away – he can play the piano, guitar, percussion, vocals, synthesizer, harp, crockenspiel, recorder, ocarina, bass guitar and keytar. Woah!

If you have not gotten tickets to Sam Tsui and Kurt Schenider’s first live appearance in Malaysia, we’ve got bad news for you – tickets are SOLD OUT.

While we do understand that some fans might be bummed out about this, that’s great news for the guys.
