4 Natural Makeup Removers From Your Kitchen

The kitchen is full of natural ingredients you can use for all your beauty needs

The wipes and liquid makeup removers you have may be convenient for your beauty needs but did you know they can actually irritate your eyes and hurt your skin in the long run?

The high concentrations of soluble liquids, surfactants and emulsifiers in these items may stay on your skin since you’re not rinsing away the active cleansing ingredients immediately. Also, the alcohol content could be stinging on the face too.

Give your skin a break and go the natural way to remove your makeup:

1. Natural Oil

A cleanser made of natural oils such as olive oil and coconut oil can be effective in removing makeup without over-drying your skin. Basically, these are great for removing all types of makeup and give skin a beneficial massage too.

2. Milk

For years, milk has been used to hydrate skin and help it retain moisture. Milk as a makeup remover is soothing on skin. Take about a tablespoon of almond oil and add it to a bowl of whole milk and rub it all over your face with a wash cloth or cotton ball.

3. Cucumber

Cucumbers have anti-inflammatory properties and hence, it will help soothe irritated or acne-prone skin. Take one cucumber and blend it into a paste. Use this as a cleanser but if you have tough makeup to remove, add a little bit of milk or baby oil to the mixture.

4. Yoghurt

From moisturising to relieving irritation, there are a number of benefits to yoghurt. Take a clean cotton pad/round and dip it into some plain yoghurt. Rub it all over your face in a circular motion and then rinse off with cool water.
