[Alert] Water Cuts in 17,500 Households Around KL

Sigh. It is happening again!

It’s inevitable really. With the current weather condition, many are inclined to use more water to cope with the heat.

Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (Syabas) has announced that some 17,500 households in Kuala Lumpur are currently experiencing water disruptions and will continue to face the cuts due to high demand and low supply.

The affected areas include:

  • Sungai Besi
  • Chan Sow Lin
  • Wisma Putra
  • Bellamy
  • Kerayong
  • Jalan San Peng
  • Taman Seputeh
  • Dataran F&N
  • Bukit Seputeh
  • Jalan Syed Putra
  • Taman Segar
  • Pandan Perdana
  • Pandan Indah
  • Taman Kencana
  • Maju Jaya
  • Lembah Maju
  • Taman Taynton View
  • Areas around the Royal Malaysian Air Forces base

The water disruption is due to the sudden high demand which led to a reduction of water levels in ponds that get their supply from the Sungai Langat Water Treatment Plant (LRA). It has also been reported that water source supply from the reserves in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Putrajaya is also running low.

The situation has been described as “unavoidable” with the continuous demand.

For more updates on the water cuts, check out Syabas site or call the hotline at 1-800-88-5252.
