Congratulations Ribbit on bagging the Best Family Film Award in the Niagara Integrated Film Festival (NIFF) 2014!
It is truly a great day for the Malaysian animation scene.
Local 3D animation film, ‘Ribbit,’ has just won the Best Family Film Award at the Niagara Integrated Film Festival in Ontario, Canada! Commencing for the very first time this year, the four-day Award Ceremony aims to highlight both the beauty of the Niagara region as well as films from around the world.
Ribbit is produced by Kartun Studios, which is a subsidiary of KRU Studios. The film’s development and post-production works were entirely completed in Cyberjaya, Malaysia by Kartun Studios, while the animation production took place in Cyberjaya, Malaysia and Mumbai, India.
Written and directed by Chuck Powers, Ribbit tells the tale of a frog with an identity crisis. Yearning for more in life, the frog and his companions go on a soul-searching adventure. The plot thickens when Ribbit believe that he is somehow a human prince trapped in a frog’s body.
The feel-good animation features popular voice talents such as Sean Astin (‘Lord of the Rings’), Tim Curry (‘The Hunt for Red October’), Cherami Leigh (‘Fast Food Nation’) and comedian Russell Peters.
To personally watch the film that put Malaysia on the map of global animation, the original English version and an adaptation of Ribbit is set to air on September 4, 2014.
Once again, a huge congrats to the hoppy Ribbit and the production team We’re ‘toadly’ happy and proud of you!
