With the philosophy of ‘making eyes’, Eyeko has long been a cult favourite among beauty addicts. We take a look at some of its famous eye products to see what’s the fuss about.
Eyeko is best known for its range of eyeliners and mascaras. This is the go-to brand when you’re looking for the blackest of eyeliners as well as mascaras.
The eyes as they say are the windows to our soul, so getting the ‘deco’ right with great eye products is a smart thing to do. Since being made available in Sephora Malaysia a few months back, we took the opportunity to try out some of Eyeko’s products. Tried and tested reviews ahead.
Eyeko ‘eye do’ Liquid Eyeliner, Line & Enhance
As the name suggest, ‘we do’… like this liner for its smooth application and intense blackness.
You can draw on a line with ease but if you were going for a thinner line, you’d need to test your skills a little as the tip bleeds ink fast and dries up on lids pretty quickly. Did we mention it’s waterproof too?
Eyeko ‘Visual Eyes’ Liquid Eyeliner, Line & Emphasise
A run from the usual black, this eyeliner comes in Marine. Don’t fret, it is dark enough to pass off as black if you’re worried about appearing like a wild child.
This is great for thin lines and to fill the gap between the lashes. The eyeliner is easy to control and perfect to define your style whether for cat eyes or kitten flicks. The brush tip is ultra fine and glides on smoothly.
Eyeko ‘Making Eyes’ Automatic Gel Eyeliner, Line & Intensify
Probably one of the best ones we’ve tried so far! The eyeliner has the effect of a kohl-like liner but while the latter smudges easily, this one stays in place for long.
This Eyeko gel eyeliner can also be used as eyeshadow. The colour is not too intense and the end result is sort of like a matte black.
Eyeko ‘Me & My Shadow’ Waterproof Shadow Liner
This crayon eyeliner can also double up as eyeshadow in subtle shade of shimmery taupe. So, it’s good for earthy tone makeup.
The pen comes with a soft, flat brush to help you with a précised blending of colour. A word of advice – the tip is rather wide and rounded, so be careful with application to avoid going too thick on the lids.
Eyeko ‘Black Magic’ Mascara, Drama & Curl
The best part about this mascara is that it comes in a soft tube, so you can squeeze it out till the last drop. On top of that, you have the guitar pick that you can use to protect your lids from unintentional smudges while applying.
The Eyeko Black Magic Mascara volumises the lashes just fine but if you want a much dramatic effect, curl the lashes first. Good design of the brush with a curved angle and soft bristle help cover both long and short eyelashes while being kind to the eyes.
Eyeko Brow Gel, Shape & Define
Eyeko has won many awards for this brow gel. It is a rather peculiar product that is formulated to come on wet but dries off with a tinge of colour when applied.
Available in one universal shade (somewhere between light brown and taupe) , the gel brow is more suited for thicker brows for even coverage. Though, it is good for sparse eyebrows too as it’s a serum-infused product to help growth.
Eyeko’s range of eyeliners, mascara and brow gel are currently available at Sephora Malaysia.
