Brace yourselves, parents! Disney has officially announced plans for a sequel to your children’s’ all-time-favorite movie, “Frozen”.
Disney revealed plans for the sequel at the Walt Disney Co.’s annual shareholders meeting from San Francisco. Frozen’s film’s directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck are in the midst of developing the project with producer, Peter Del Vecho for Walt Disney Animation Studios.
According to Variety, the sequel doesn’t come as much of a surprise, as the first film was not only a resounding success when it first came out in November 2013, but it continues to be a major moneymaking force for Disney’s divisions to this day. Not only did it make the big bucks for Disney but more importantly, it also helped reinvigorate Walt Disney Animation Studios.
Recently, just last weekend, “Frozen Fever”, an animated short film was released which united the characters and songwriters from the movie, which is being played in conjunction with the live-action adaptation of “Cinderella”.
Plans are being quietly brewed up for the sequel and after the first “Frozen” movie, there’s eager anticipation for the next one. A release date and production details are yet to be announced.
