Juicing and blending are both good for you, but they are beneficial to you in different ways and it is also a personal preference on what you actually prefer consuming.
So, what is the difference between both?
Juicing is a process where it extracts juice and nutrients from the produce and leaves out the indigestible fiber. Without the fiber, juices gets absorbed more easily into your system because it doesn’t have to work so hard to get it through your system.
This is useful for people who have sensitive digestive systems because some people have difficulty digesting fiber. Freshly squeezed vegetable and fruit juices are good for you namely because they have detoxification properties as well as nutritious qualities. Without fiber in the juices, you’ll also find that you may go hungry quicker.
It is important to note that when fiber is removed from the juices, it is absorbed very fast into your system. If you’re only juicing fruits, that can mean a boost in your blood sugar levels. That can create unstable blood sugar levels in your body, especially if you’re diabetic. Going on a juice cleanse regime could be dangerous if you are diabetic so always err on the side of caution. Unlike juicing, this one is quite different. Blending involves blending the entire fruit and vegetables with the skin, core, seeds and all to get the most out of the vegetables and fruits in their juices. They also make their smoothies this way to ensure maximum nutrition is extracted from their produce.
The blending process breaks down the fiber which then makes fruits and vegetables easier to digest. As it’s harder to digest, it is a slow, even release of nutrients into your system. This helps to avoid sudden increase in your blood sugar levels in your body.
Due to the fiber being in your juice or smoothie, it helps to keep you full for longer, such as these smoothie recipes. By including fiber into your smoothie, it will also increase in volume and you can then pack in more servings of fruits and vegetables into a single serving.
Now that you know the difference between the two, decide what you prefer as both are not necessarily better than the other. It is down to personal preference but also, it’s about what suits you best. Both juicing and blending have their own benefits and are different in their own right.
