Something new is brewing at Tigerair. The airline has just launched a new service schedule specifically for the Singapore-Ipoh route.
The Singapore-Ipoh service will be launched by leading Singapore-based no-frills airline Tigerair on the 29th of May, which will have up to four flights per week.
The new service is to be operated by an Airbus 320 aircraft and it will carry about 1,440 passengers per week, making Tigerair the only Airbus operator to fly directly to Ipoh four times weekly. It is said to boost tourism and create more ease for business travelers from Singapore to Perak.
Ipoh is the fourth largest city in Malaysia and it is home to both rich heritage footprints and trendy entertainment alternatives, making it an ideal holiday destination. The route to Ipoh will be Tigerair’s fourth Malaysian destination, which currently comprises Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi, and Penang. The new service will help attract tourists looking for a short getaway to enjoy the many attractions Ipoh and Perak have to offer.
Tigeair announced its excitement for this route and they feel that it will help boost tourism between Malaysia and Singapore. They are also the first to operate jet flights to Ipoh. This will mean it more convenient for travelers in Perak to Singapore and they can even connect to other flight destinations in Asia, Australia, Europe, and the Americas, with other carriers in Singapore Airlines Group.
Tigerair is a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines Group. Other Singapore Airlines Group companies operating out of Singapore are Singapore Airlines, Silk Air and Scoot.
Tickets are already on sale now. For more information, visit www.tigerair.com

One of the most recognized images in the world is the iconic Coca-Cola contour bottle. It first made its appearance in 1915 and the collectors this year will be displaying their own bottles that have been lovingly collected.
The event will be taking place on Saturday, 9th May 2015 at the Lower Ground Concourse at Berjaya Times Square from 10 am till 9 pm.
The Coca-Cola Collectors Fair this year will be boisterous and colorful with cheerleaders on stage, interesting Coca-Cola memorabilia displays from over 60 Malaysian and international collectors, plus quizzes and prizes to be won.

Are you interested in social issues, social challenges and the future of social issues will be in Malaysia?
If social issues are your thing, then don’t miss out on this upcoming event, Change For Good. It is an event where the prediction of the future of social issues in 20 years will happen with some of Malaysia’s largest NGOs and social organizations such as UNICEF, Mercy Malaysia, Malaysian Global Innovation & Creative Centre (MaGIC) and #PowerShiftMsia.
The event aims to expand our minds by addressing social challenges by looking at innovative approaches and models organizations are using to solve complex challenges.
The world was supposed to meet the Millennium Development Goals set by the United Nations this year. As it’s always coming to the middle of 2015, this is to examine how Malaysia is doing and how to move Malaysia’s development forward.
The event will be discussing issues like the future for poverty eradication, humanitarian relief, children’s rights, and the differently-abled in Malaysia. It will also question what kinds of new challenges and opportunities will arise in that period, as well as what ways of thinking will be obsolete and what are the kind of solutions that are needed in the midst of social and technological change. More importantly, how does one adapt to the problems of the future.
These are the esteemed presenters that will be examining the Malaysian social sector and what it will be in twenty years from now:

It has been confirmed by Kravitz’s management team that Lenny Kravitz will not be performing at the after-race concert for the 2015 Formula 1 PETRONAS Malaysia Grand Prix on the 29th of March 2015.
Kravitz stated the following in an official statement,
“Unfortunately, due to contractual scheduling conflicts beyond my control, I will not be able to come to Kuala Lumpur to perform. I have been looking forward to coming to play for my fans and I’m deeply sorry that my concert had to be canceled. My ability to come to play for you all is a huge concern to me and I’m looking forward to rescheduling so I can perform for you as soon as possible.”

Sad news people, the organizers of the Future Music Festival Asia (FMFA) 2015 have confirmed that their appeal to Singapore’s Home Affairs Ministry has been rejected.
As you know we did an update a few days ago mentioning that the organizers had issues obtaining a permit for the event. The organizers had worked tirelessly to obtain the necessary permit for the event. However, they received word of the ministry’s decision.
The organizers (Livescapes Singapore) said that they are extremely dedicated to holding a drug-free event and had set uptight security measurements and the appropriate medical management plans for the event, but sadly, the event is not to be.
A formal press statement was issued stating the following:
“We are extremely disappointed that our appeal to the Ministry of Home Affairs to organize Future Music Festival Asia 2015 (FMFA15) in Singapore has been unsuccessful. We can confirm that we have received the official rejection of our appeal. FMFA firmly stands behind our goal of creating a drug-free event for our festival-goers to enjoy. Despite having put in place a robust event, security, safety and medical management plan which has been developed alongside both local and international experts with a combined 50 years of experience in running similar large-scale events, our Public Entertainment License has not been granted. The plans that have been developed far exceeds international standards.
We emphasize that the safety and security of our festival-goers are of utmost importance and will continue to be our number one priority. Regarding concerns the authorities may have about the drug-related incidents that took place in Malaysia last year, we reiterate that these were isolated incidents that took place outside Singapore, which cannot and do not carry any implication that FMFA is linked to drug use or drug abuse.”
So far, approximately 15,000 tickets have been sold for the FMFA15 scheduled for the 13th and 14th March at Changi Exhibition Centre. Full ticket refunds will be made to all FMFA ticket buyers, details of which will be made available by Monday evening. Please check the FMFA website for updates and details.
A care team has also been set up to help answer any concerns directly via this email address: firstname.lastname@example.org.

So, if you’re a first-timer, you need not worry about not being able to keep up because it’s open to everyone and you can travel at your own pace. This November and December, Penang will be very busy as they play hosts home to 3 Festivals consisting of George Town Literary Festival, In-between Arts Festival and Penang Island Jazz Festival.
If you’re thinking of going away for a quick break, why not try Penang. With the amount of things lined up for the upcoming festivals, it sounds like it’s going to be an awesome time! If you’re not sure what the festivals are about, we have a synopsis of the events for you.
The George Town Literary Festival (GTLF) returns this year with an impressive lineup of local and international writers. GTLF is enjoying its fourth year return. It was well received before and this year, it will feature 30 acclaimed writers in the likes of Miguel Syjuco, Kassim Ahmad, Rehman Rashid, Rana Dasgupta and Sudeep Sen. These talented writers will present their stories through prose, poetry, spoken word and / or film. This year will also be a little different by taking a look at how writers’ engage in GTLF’s theme ‘Capital’ through lectures, workshops and more. And for those of you who enjoy a night of laughter, there’s even a ticketed comedy night where the proceeds will go to charity.
The In-between Arts Festival is quite an interesting festival. The festival will feature lots of fun things to do. Things like a drive-in movie, badminton flash mob and performances by various artistes such as Bihzhu and The Rubberbands.
The drive-in movie will be very popular as it’ll be great old cinematic experience under the stars. Fingers crossed for good weather! All movies will be based on a first-come-first served basis. So, if you’re keen on this, go early to nab your parking spot. As for the badminton flash mob, this one has nothing to do with dance. But instead, it will celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship with a lot of racket-on-court action.
Last but not least, is the Penang Island Jazz Festival, it will be a music-filled event. International and local jazz artistes perform at Jazz by the Beach. Held at Bayview Beach Resort, catch Seth Glier, CNIRBS, Laila Biali Trio, Monoswezi, Dutch Swing College Band, Richard Bona Group, Jo Young Deok Trio, Schroeder-Headz, Crystal Bowersox, Fresh Dixie Project and Carmen Souza. Bringing a dash of local flavour on stage is Jazzhats & Ray featuring Man Kidal.
There’s also a Sunrise at Tropical Spice Garden which is basically starting your say with breakfast with a side of jazz. There’s also the Creative Malaysia Fringe Stages. Staged in the lobbies of Bayview Beach Resort, Hard Rock Hotel Penang and Parkroyal Resort, we hope you’ll be able to catch a series of performances of various musical styles. Spot Sid & Troublemakers, Riz & Endleaves and Christian Mark Theseira perform at Hard Rock Hotel before making a switch to Bayview Beach Resort for Manuel Ukulele, Hazel & Jay, Uglymen and more.
