10 Things That We Can Learn From ‘The Journey’

The Journey rakes in RM13 million in the box office, making it one of the highest ranking Malaysian-made movies of all time. And honestly, with such favourable casts, storyline and cinematography, the success was much warranted! After watching this feel-good movie, we wanted to share what we like and what we can learn from The Journey.

    1. Respect The Elders

We may not see eye to eye with our parents on many things but respect teaches us to listen, tolerate and grow. Being respectful to our elders is significant to the relationship we keep with each other.

    2. Tradition & Culture Keeps Us Together

No matter where you go or how far you’ve drifted, home is where the heart is. Always remember the tradition and culture you were brought up in. It is the essence of being a human.

    3. Time Waits For No One

Time is fleeting. Years can go by without father and daughter reconciling, friends meeting and resentment brewing. Don’t let life get in the way of living a meaningful one.

    4. Malaysia Is Truly Picturesque

The saying that there is no place like home holds true. From the highlands to the seas, Malaysia holds many stunning sceneries if you are willing to explore.

    5. God Listens & Works In His Ways

There is a higher being that we may not fully comprehend but He is always there. Don’t try to rush things for He already has plans for us and always remember to give thanks to Him for the blessings in your life.

    6. The Importance of Dreams & Keeping To Your Promises

It is good to have dreams. It is what makes living such a sweet adventure. When you set your heart on something, follow through with actions.

    7. Ever-Lasting Friendship

The beauty of true friends is that they are never too far away. Life may take you through many twists and turns but in the end, you’ll always have each other’s back.

    8. Love In Many Forms

The most powerful feeling in the world exists between father and daughter, boy and girl, friends, neighbours. It is a strong connection that can be experienced in every form.

    9. Kids Everywhere Say The Darnest Things

The innocence of children is beautiful, and so is their laughter. Perhaps, sometimes their cheekiness show and you might be nicknamed “Sofaman” as a sign of affection.

    10. Stubbornness

We’re all made different and some people are just set in their ways and beliefs. It does not mean that they have bad intentions, we just need to know how to work around them and find a mutual ground.

Disney Princess Film Festival 2013 at GSC

Relive your Disney memories and sing along this November at the Disney Princess Film Festival 2013!

Imagine re-watching Aladdin, Cinderella, Pocahontas, Mulan, The Princess and the Frog and Tangled on the big screen once again, singing along and reciting every quote like it was the back of your hand.

Well, imagine no more; from October 26 to November 24, GSC will be screening those six titles at selected cinemas across Malaysia on weekends as part of the Disney Princess Film Festival 2013.

Priced at a mere RM8 or below per ticket (or RM17 for GSC Signature at the Gardens Mall), this would be a fun and affordable family affair – not to mention a great way to pass down the legacy of our favourite Disney princesses to the next generation (although there’s no shame in admitting you’re watching it solely to relive your childhood memories)!

Besides that, there will also be opportunities to take part in exciting activities such as photo-shoots, colouring and puzzles at the Disney Princess Film Festival Roadshow which will take place at various shopping malls across Malaysia from October 26 to December 8. However, you will need to present one ticket stub to a Disney Princess Film Festival 2013 movie or Disney’s ‘Frozen’ in order to participate in the roadshow.
